Welcome to Portsmouth and the first year of your degree. You're joining a community of staff and students who are all here to support and encourage you, and we hope you're excited to start your new life at university.
Over the next few years, you'll delve into your chosen subject, make friends for life, and develop skills to prepare you for a successful career after your studies.

Accessing your online accounts
If your induction includes online activities, you'll need your student account details to access them. Your username will consist of 'UP' followed by your student ID number (for example, UP123456).
You’ll also need to log into Moodle to find all the details about your course. You’ll only have access to Moodle once you complete your registration with us.

10.00am - 10.30am: Welcome to the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy
An introduction to the University of Portsmouth by the course team.

10.30am - 11.15am: Health and safety brief
Introduction into the health and safety of the building and a tour.

11.30am - 12.30pm: Introduction to the Course Structure and modules
Meet the module coordinators to discuss the structure of the course and the different modules involved.

1.30pm - 2.00pm: Introduction to Moodle and e-learning
An introduction to Moodle and how to use it effectively.

2.30pm - 2.45pm: Intro to the Dental Society
Meet the students involved in the Dental Society and ask them your questions.

2.45pm - 3.15pm: Intro to assessment
This will give the students an opportunity to meet the associate head of academics and understand assessment processes.

3.15pm - 3.45pm: Introduction to student rep, processes, and code of conduct
An opportunity to meet the associate head of students.

3.45pm - 4.15pm: Personal tutorial system
An opportunity to meet the lead of the personal tutoring system and understand the importance of personal tutors and how they support students.

Final close of programme and a Q and A session.
