Get paid to get involved in economics experiments

We're looking for participants in behavioural experiments. Students and staff from all disciplines are welcome to take part!

We're interested in your opinions, your behaviour and how you interact with others in the experiments. Studies will take place both online and on campus. Come by, participate in interesting settings and earn real money!

Rewards and signing up

Participation is paid depending on the decisions you take in the experiment - on average we pay £13 per hour for participation. You can sign up for our participant database to receive announcements about experimental sessions by filling in the registration form:

When we arrange the sessions, you'll receive an email invitation to sign up to take part2-3 days before the session is planned to be held or before you receive the study online. You can either accept the invitation and register for a slot, or if you are busy you can just ignore the invitation. Do also share this registration form with your friends and colleagues across the university who also might want to be paid for contributing to university research.

Ethical approval

Ethics reference for this research participant pool is BAL/2019/11/ MURAD. The studies you will be invited to will have been reviewed and received a Favourable Ethical Opinion from the University of Portsmouth Ethics Committee.
