The Office for Students has formed a new strategic group called the Disabled Students' Commission (DSC) that will advise, inform and influence higher education providers to improve support for disabled students.

The group will identify and promote approaches which work well for disabled students and will draw on best practice as well as encourage initiatives that are proven to work for students before, during and after their studies.

The DSC is seeking input and views from senior leaders and disabled students regarding inclusion in light of Covid-19. They are hosting a number of online roundtable events to discuss higher education institutions’ response to support applicants and existing students during the current pandemic.

The sessions include:

  • Disabled student transition and induction 2020/2021 - Friday 19 June, 3.00pm-5.00pm
  • Disabled student voice on blended learning, clearing and transition and induction - Thursday 25 June 2.00pm-4.00pm
