The annual Global Festival of Cultures, the flagship event of Global Week is coming back this year Thursday 16 March, with our exhibition style event and Performance Showcase including student performances of Korean pop, Indian dance and Bulgarian folk dancing.
Festival of Cultures – Thursday 16 March
Explore different cultures from around the world through displays of music, food, costume and language and discover the incredible global cultures that form part of the University.
Displays will be located in the Ravelin Sports Centre from 12.00pm until 3.00pm on Thursday 16 March. This event is open to students and staff and there is no booking required.
Performance Showcase – Thursday 16 March
Gather with staff and students from over 150 countries for an evening Performance Showcase to celebrate our unique cultural blend with vibrant displays of dance and music from across the world. Performances start from 6.00pm on Thursday 16 March at the Third Space in the Students’ Union building with dancing and a DJ until late.
Student performance showcases will include:
- K-Pop performances
- Indian dance performances
- Native songs from Nigeria
- Bulgarian folk dance
- Highlife Afrobeats
This event is open to both staff and students and is free to attend. There is no need to book to attend the Festival of Cultures, but capacity is limited, so make sure you arrive early.
