Last week we confirmed our arrangements for a staggered return of students in January, which will be supported by a Covid asymptomatic testing programme in line with government guidelines.

Book your tests for your arrival back in January

You can now book a Covid test ready for your return to campus in the new year. Appointments for tests for any student not displaying symptoms will be available from 4 January through to mid-February. The test centre will be in the Spinnaker Sports Hall.

In line with government guidance we strongly encourage you to book two tests about three days apart.

The second test date should be close to when your course recommences face-to-face teaching activity.

More information about the process is on MyPort, along with FAQs, and other useful things to know like how you will receive your results.

Book your January Covid test

If you return to campus early you can still access the testing programme and are encouraged to do so if you intend to use University facilities e.g. the library, even if your course hasn’t restarted.

If you have symptoms of Covid please don’t attend the test centre at Spinnaker and instead book a symptomatic Covid test through the NHS Test and Trace.

If you do need to self isolate we have a range of support services in place for you, such as food parcels and our Res Life and Wellbeing Services. Please remember to let us know if you test positive by completing the Covid-19 Report Form.

Protecting and supporting each other

We hope by taking these tests you will be able to resume face to face teaching activity, use University facilities, and meet peers with confidence and reduce the risk of inadvertently passing the virus onto others.
