The Student Housing team can help with information on all your options, including a potential room in halls of residence.
The University has a range of halls at price points to suit all budgets. Our halls stock includes self-catered and catered options, as well as en-suite or shared bathroom facilities. Halls are spread across 3 areas, with the Guildhall and Southsea halls being a close walking distance to University. There are also the recently refurbished Langstone Flats and Trust Hall which are connected by a free University bus service, and offer the opportunity for students living there to apply for a parking permit and bring their car to the Langstone site. Car parking is not available at other hall locations. You can find more information on halls of residence, including photos and prices, on the university website.
If you would like to register your interest for a hall room for the 2024/25 academic year please contact student.housing@port.ac.uk with the following:
- Full Name
- Student ID Number
- Contact Telephone Number
- Preferred Email Address
- Your 3 Preferences for Halls of Residence
The Student Housing team will then stay in contact with you over the summer and will let you know at the end of August about any hall places available.
You can also start your search for accommodation in the private rented sector where there is a wide range of shared houses, flats and lodgings across the city.
We recommend using University of Portsmouth StudentPad, which is our official accommodation search engine including a database of student properties from our registered landlords.
We also have a message board on this website where you can link with other students who may be searching for housemates, or advertising additional rooms. You can email studentpad@port.ac.uk to request the message board password.
