The University’s first virtual graduation ceremonies were a success, with 250 graduates from the Class of 2020 coming together from across all five faculties on Friday 28 May.

The specialised virtual platform hosted the two ceremonies, but also offered ways for students to celebrate with their peers, department staff, friends and family. This included a wall of fame for students to share their graduation outfits and congratulations messages for their cohort, and a live chat to cheer on their friends.

A team of 13 staff worked on the day to provide a unique graduation experience, and make sure that students who couldn’t attend in person graduations next month, didn’t miss out on celebrating their achievements. Ethan Williams, a final year Television and Broadcasting student, co-hosted the event.

More information about Graduation, including the schedule for the remaining in-person and virtual graduation ceremonies in July, is available on the MyPort student website.
