Staff, students and general public needed for research study

3 min read

Read transcribed interviews with pairs of friends or partners and decide whether the pairs are honest or deceptive.

Study Description

This is a lie detection study that will be conducted via Zoom. You will read transcripts from previously conducted interviews between pairs. The pairs were either two actual friends/partners (truth tellers) or strangers (lie tellers). After reading each transcript, you will determine whether the pair were lying or telling the truth.

What will participants be doing?

You will be given an appointment to meet the researcher via Zoom. During the appointment, you will be sent the link to the transcripts. You will read four transcripts and rate them on several variables. Then, you will decide whether the transcripts are truthful or false. After you assess all the transcripts, you will be asked questions about your experience and demographics.

Approximately 30 minutes.
