Changemaker Challenge
Be part of the change
What is the Changemaker Challenge?
The Changemaker Challenge is a one-day event that provides a platform for students like you to engage with local employers and organisations, and transform your passion for change into tangible actions. You'll develop essential skills, commercial awareness and create a lasting impact on the world around you. Every great change begins with a small step, and together we can be the catalysts for a better tomorrow.
How the Challenge works
Team Formation
You will be in teams of 3-5 members. We encourage diverse teams with members from different backgrounds, interests, and expertise. This will allow you to meet new people, learn from each other and bring different perspectives to the challenge.
Problem Identification
A selected employer or organisation will identify and present you with a pressing issue that they are passionate about solving.
Ideation and Solution Development
With the help of the Changemaker Challenge resources and consultants on hand, teams will brainstorm and develop innovative solutions.
Project Proposal
Teams will pitch their proposal outlining their solution, action plan, timeline, and expected impact.
Mentorship and Guidance
Throughout the challenge, participating teams will have access to mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals who can offer insights and support in project proposals.
Showcase and Recognition
The runners-up and the winning team will compete at the Grand Changemaker Challenge at Portsmouth’s Fratton Football Club to fight for their place as the overall Changemaker Challenge winning team and receive the coveted trophy. The day will culminate in celebrations and networking over drinks.
