Whether you're starting your postgraduate course with us or returning after your first year, we're pleased to welcome you to the University. We hope you're excited to get started.

Accessing your online accounts

If your induction includes online activities, you'll need your student account details to access them. Your username will consist of 'UP' followed by your student ID number (for example, UP123456).

You’ll also need to log into Moodle to find all the details about your course. You’ll only have access to Moodle once you complete your registration with us.

9.30am - 10.25am: Welcome by Head of School

The Head of School will deliver welcoming messages to the new students. This is an exciting opportunity to know more about the School and meet the Head.

10.30am - 10.55am: Introduction to Health and Safety

An introduction to health and safety at the University of Portsmouth.

11.00am - 11.55am: Introduction to the Course

The MSc course will be introduced. During this session, you'll meet your Course Leader and fellow students.

12.00pm - 12.30pm: Library Services Induction

The services, resources and support provided by the Library will be introduced

Thursday 19 January

1.00pm - 1.25pm: Moodle Induction

Most of the learning resources of each module at the University of Portsmouth will be uploaded to the Moodle page. The function of the Moodle platform will be introduced.

The services and support provided by the Student Finance Team will be introduced.

International and EU students

If you're joining us from overseas, find out about our International Orientation events and what you need to do during your first weeks.

You'll need to join us in Portsmouth for the start of course. Information about registering, collecting your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP card) and ID checks for the new academic year will be sent to you by email.
