Teams is not currently available for use at the University. More information on the Microsoft Modern Workplace Programme, can be found on the Digital Transformation FAQ page.
This information is for staff members who have been included in a Team for a specific and official purpose for example a project, steering group or similar.
Downloading Teams on a University Computer
Teams is available on University computers from the Software Centre
- Click on the Start Menu and scroll down to Microsoft Endpoint Manager, open the category and select Software Centre
- Click on Microsoft Teams Icon View Image
- Click on the Install button View Image View Image
- Teams will install, this may take a few seconds
- It is recommended that you reboot your machine when Teams has installed
Opening Teams
- Click on the start button
- Scroll down to Microsoft Teams, click on the entry to open Teams
Getting Teams to automatically open when you turn on your PC
- Open Teams
- Click on ... Settings and More (top right), select Settings View Image
- The General tab will be displayed, select the Auto-Start Teams View Image
Accessing Teams Online
As a member of Staff at the University you will have an online MS 365 account which you can use to access MS Teams
- Open a browser and log into MS Teams page.
- Click on Sign in (top right)
- Sign in with your University username and password
- Teams will open in a new tab
- Select the Team you wish to open
Team Activity Email Updates
To set up an email that will alert you to any missed activity in Teams follow the following steps:
- Open Teams
- Click on ... Settings and More (top right), select Settings View Image
- Click on the Notification and Activity Tab in the left hand panel
- Scroll down to the Missed activity emails section and choose an option from the dropdown menu View Image View Image
- To return to Teams click on the back arrow View Image
