Come and hear from entrepreneurs and founders who will share their startup journeys and top tips as part of our regular ‘Inspire Me’ online sessions.

It is a fantastic opportunity to learn from others, ask questions directly to someone who has been there and make valuable connections.

Our guest speakers are award winning games designers/developers Victoria Primmer & Lauren Ansdell-Miller.

Working independently, Victoria and Lauren will share their individual journeys, what they have learnt along the way and give you some top tips.

Lauren is a recent UoP graduate, she studied Computer Games Production and completed a Self-Employment Placement (SEP) during 2020/21. Lauren started her own games company, Dyak Studios, which looked to promote diversity and inclusion within the industry. Following her experiences, she graduated University with First Class honours and 3 prizes, has won national awards, and been a finalist for international awards. Lauren secured a graduate role in May 2022 and now works as an Associate Producer for a games studio based in Guildford alongside completing a Masters here at Portsmouth in Games Tech.

Victoria is a final year Computer Games Technology student following the art pathway. During her Self-Employment Placement Year, Victoria started her own Educational Games Studio, Ghostwriter Games, where she created an interactive environment set in the world of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

This passion for educational games led Victoria to get a job as an artist within an educational games startup: Brainspark Games. Within the placement year, Victoria (alongside a fellow SEP student) won the Epic Games Unreal Engine Choice Award for their Games Innovation Challenge 2022 project. Victoria has also won multiple awards such as 'Best 3D Art,' 'Best Level Design,' 'Most Commercially Viable' and 'Best Overall (Community Vote) in the Games Jobs Live: Game Parade 2022 with a team of fellow UoP students. With this same team, she has started a new studio: Zeta Games using this project: Steambots, as a foundation.

There will be time at the end to ask any questions you may have.
