We're working with Santander Universities to help students and graduates access opportunities for learning, employability and entrepreneurship.
Our partnership with Santander began in 2018. Since then, Santander Universities has provided more than £267,000 in funding to initiatives at the University of Portsmouth, including:
- financial grants for students in hardship
- grants and training programmes for student entrepreneurs
- mobility grants for students to study overseas

Santander £250 Career Support Award 2025-26
Need a little extra support to take your next career step? We’ve partnered with Santander to offer 60 awards of £250 to help our students take that next career step. The funding can support interview travel and clothing, placement or internship essentials and more. It’s here to help you say yes to opportunities that build your experience, confidence and future career.
Who can apply?
- You must be 18+ and a full or part-time student this academic year (2025/26). Includes undergraduate or postgraduate students.
- Your application must be for an activity that’s happening this year (2025/26). Or an activity that hasn’t yet taken place but starts before the end of the academic year. This includes activity starting up to 31 August 2026.
- No need to be a Santander customer.

Awards will be granted to eligible applicants (as defined in the T&Cs), with preference given to students from the following groups: a) Students on a self‑employed placement year; b) Students on a voluntary placement arranged through the Careers & Employability team; c) Students receiving the Care Leaver Bursary or Stand Alone Bursary. Santander Student and Graduate £500 Prize Draw
The Santander Student and Graduate £500 Prize Draw is offering 200 awards of £500 to help students, degree apprentices and recent graduates make the most of your studies, work or next steps.
The award is designed to provide flexible financial support, giving you the freedom to use the money in the way that works best for you.
Who can apply?
- You must be 18+ and a UK resident.
- Open to current full-time or part-time students during the 2025/26 academic year, degree apprentices and recent graduates (from 1 September 2022). This includes undergraduate and postgraduates.
- No need to be a Santander customer.
