Explore your island city – free cycling event

Bring your bike along to a free event at Ravelin Park on Friday 9 October starting from 1.30pm.  

Get practical support, including free repairs and safety checks, information on bike loans, advice on secure locks, and tips for travelling safely on two wheels. 

You can also join Pedal Power for a guided bike ride leaving Ravelin Park at 2.00pm. It's a great chance to get to know Portsmouth by bike, find practical routes for getting around, and boost your confidence cycling in the city. 

After the ride, enjoy a free drink and pizza with other students and cycling enthusiasts in the Neptune Building common room from 4.00pm. 

Pick up information about our new Cycle Hub, due to open later this year, which will provide over 300 secure cycle spaces plus showers and changing facilities, making travelling to campus easier, more convenient and more sustainable. 

Not a strong cyclist? Not to worry! The event is about making cycling feel accessible to everyone. You don't need to be an experienced cyclist –this event is open to anyone who is interested in cycling in Portsmouth, whether for your daily commute, getting to lectures, keeping active or exploring the city in your free time.
