Join in with a mix of virtual events and face-to-face activities that will help you meet other students, make new friends, explore and join clubs and societies, get to grips with your studies and learn more about life at uni.

Course induction

Your induction timetable is available now and your teaching timetable will be published on 17 January - both on your Student View – so you know where to go and who to see on your course in your first few weeks. You'll need to complete your online registration before you can access your timetables.

International Orientation January 2025

Wednesday 22 to Sunday 26 January 2025.

Stepping into a new course in a new country is an opportunity to embrace new passions, make new friends and make the most of your time as an international student.

We are really excited to welcome you to Portsmouth and as well as university-wide activities for you to experience, you can take part in our International Orientation programme in person, online and on-demand.

Whether you're a new student joining in January or returning for another exciting term, the Winter Welcome is your opportunity to get involved, meet people, and discover everything our campus has to offer!

At Refreshers' Fayre, explore clubs, societies, and services, pick up some freebies, and find your new passion. This is your chance to kickstart the year and make the most of student life.

Student Seafront Challenge

Get to know Portsmouth better

Check out our challenge and enter the draw to be in with a chance to win UoP merchandise!

You’ll start in the city’s historic trading and seafaring heart, stroll to some of the seafront’s best sights, and end in a little haven of calm – with plenty of stops for ice cream on the way. You can do the whole thing in one morning or drop in to different places as you like during the week.
