Short micro-learning courses
Two short courses on consent and active bystander training will be delivered to you
New students starting in January 2023 will be enrolled on two micro-learning courses as part of your welcome inductions to the University.
The micro courses on consent and active bystander training will be delivered to student via email and text message by our partners GoodCourse.
The courses will provide students with easy to remember advice about sexual consent, and when and when not to get involved as an active bystander in a difficult situation.
The courses reinforce our Student Charter and expectations of student behaviour and respect, including valuing the people students meet and the places where they study, work, and live; and to be a role model in the ways they treat people with respect, equity and dignity.
New students will receive the micro-learning courses on the following dates:
- Consent course - course delivered on 11 January with two £25 Amazon vouchers drawn at random for students who complete the course
- Active bystander course - course delivered on 25 January with a free Greggs sausage roll (meat/veg) for every student who completes the course
The courses will appear initially as an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with an app.goodcourse.co link. If we have your mobile number, you’ll also receive the course via a text message from ‘Uni of Ports’. You can complete it via email or text, whichever you fancy!
They will look like this and be a mix of information, videos, gifs and quizzes to check how much students have learned. They’re designed to grab attention and be easy to remember to help students treat each other with respect and be valued members of our diverse and friendly community.
