This article provides information regarding withdrawal from a course due to financial difficulties and how the Student Finance Centre can help.

The Student Finance Centre can provide honest, non-judgemental advice in a confidential environment.. We can talk you through the financial implications of withdrawing, including implications on any funding you’ve already received, such as Maintenance Loan payments, due to leaving the course early. We can also advise you on the impact withdrawal may have on any further funding should you decide to return to your studies in the future.

If you do decide to withdraw from your course, you may be liable to pay some tuition fees depending on when the University receives your online withdrawal form. If you are eligible for a tuition fee loan you will still be able to access this to cover what you owe. Your award authority (eg. SFE, SFW, SFNI, SASS, or NHSBSA) may also require you to repay any funding they identify as an overpayment.

If you have any queries regarding fee charges and you decide to withdraw, visit the Change of Status article, or contact feeenquiries@port.ac.uk .  If you withdraw from your course and do not enrol at another University you will become liable for loan repayments from the April after you leave if you are are earning over the repayment threshold.
