Windows 11 is coming to University of Portsmouth this summer

The university is upgrading all university owned student computers across campus to Windows 11.

What does this mean for me?

The upgrades to Windows 11 will take place from 1 June to 30 September 2025.

We understand that access to computers is crucial for your studies, and we will make this transition as smooth as possible. To minimise any impact on your access, we will upgrade only a few computers each day. While this means there will always be computers available, there may be times when the number of available machines is reduced in certain buildings.

Support services available

• IT Helpers: available during the day in the university Library throughout the summer to assist you.
• IT Support: reach out to the IT Service Desk for assistance.
