All key services will continue to operate as usual and will be temporarily based in Gun House.
The Students’ Union Building will be closed from Monday 30 March to Wednesday 1 April. All key services will continue to operate as usual and will be temporarily based in Gun House.
Where to get help
During the closure, Union services, including the Student Advice Service, will be based in Gun House. You can also contact the services online or by phone:
- Student Advice Service – advice@upsu.net, 023 9284 3478
- Student Groups – groups@upsu.net, 023 9284 3671
- Student Events – events@upsu.net, 023 9284 3628
Why is the building temporarily closed?
We’re carrying out an air survey in the building, which means it will need to be completely sealed for a period of time. This testing is a vital part of the Student Hub project, and will help us start construction as soon as possible after the Union moves to Neptune Building.
When will the SU move?
The move will take place after Easter. We’re working on the finishing touches to the building, and we’ll share the confirmed dates soon.
Make sure you follow the Students’ Union on Instagram to be the first to know.
Student Hub
The new Student Hub is part of the University’s Estate Masterplan and is designed to make student life even better. It will connect the Library and Students’ Union and include:
- Key Union services
- Social and study spaces
- A lounge and wellbeing areas
- A coffee bar/kitchen
