In this study you will be asked to imagine that you are an undercover agent for the government and you will be assigned to either tell the truth or to lie. You will witness a secret film clip and will be asked to remember the details to pass on to an agent that is higher up in the chain.

After viewing the secret film clip you will be asked to fill out a pre-interview questionnaire and then will either be asked in an interview to truthfully recall what you witnessed in the clip or to lie about some aspects. After completion of the interview, you will fill in a post- interview questionnaire and then be debriefed about the study. You do not need to prepare anything in advance.

You will be paid £10 for your time. Psychology students requiring participant pool credits instead of payment will receive 1 course credit.

Additionally, if you are convincing you will be entered into a draw to win one of three prizes up to £150. The first prize is £150, the second prize is £75 and the third prize is £50.
