Gabriela Bergmane and Emily Willis are among students from 14 UK universities, who had been awarded places on the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship scheme in Canada.
Gabriela Bergmane and Emily Willis have been selected to receive fully funded scholarships to the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship in Canada.
The internship is a competitive initiative for international undergraduates from Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Each year, top-ranked applicants participate in a 12-week research internship under the supervision of a Canadian university in a variety of academic disciplines, from science, engineering, and mathematics to the humanities and social sciences.
Both students' scholarships include accommodation, round-trip airfares and numerous other benefits to undertake their research projects between May and October 2024.
Gabriela is currently in her second year of the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science degree and Emily is in her second year of the BSc (Hons) Marine Environmental Science course, both within the Faculty of Science and Health. They will be studying in Canada at University of Victoria and University of Guelph.
