Raising aspirations for women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
I'm studying quantity surveying at International College Portsmouth (ICP). I'm the only girl on my course but I am hoping there will be more girls when I join the University.
I was inspired to study quantity surveying by a woman in my dad's construction company – she was the only female quantity surveyor among five. I think more women should be encouraged to go into the sector because they open doors for other girls who want to be in similar roles or positions.
My future career goals are to be part of RICS – the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors. It is a very prestigious group and being amongst that group will inspire more women to take up roles in quantity surveying and know what quantity surveying is.
I hope to see more girls taking up quantity surveying in the future!
