Participants will be asked to complete a mission in Portsmouth which will take approximately 30 minutes. The rest of the tasks should take approximately 40 minutes. The mission involves participants collecting an envelope, buying an item from a shop, and then delivering the envelope to a location near the department. After returning to the department, participants will be interviewed online about this mission. They will either tell the truth or lie about the mission. At the end of the experiment, they will complete an automated questionnaire about their experiences, impressions, and demographics.

What will participants be doing?
Participants will complete a mission that involves participants collecting an envelope, buying an item from a shop, and then delivering the envelope to a location near the department. They will then be interviewed online at the department. They will also be asked to complete an automated questionnaire.

Please describe the time-commitment required (e.g. 2 hours every afternoon, etc.)
Approximately 70 minutes (one session).

What will participants receive as a reward for their participation?
As a thank you, participants will receive 1.5 course credits if they are first year psychology students or £10. They will also have the opportunity to be entered in a draw to win one of three prizes (£50, £75, or £150).
