Both the U1 and U2 University bus services will be temporarily re-routed due to road closures.
From 13 January until March 2025, both the U1 and U2 University bus services will be temporarily re-routed due to road closures on Cambridge Road and St Michael's Road. The changes are as follows:
- 13 January - 16 February: Cambridge Road (southwestbound) closed
- 17 February - 31 March: St Michael's Road closed
During this period, the Cambridge Road bus stop outside the Students' Union will not be in use. Staff and students are advised to instead use the following bus stops:
- Bus stop on Museum Road next to Portsmouth Grammar School
- Bus stop near to University House on Winston Churchill Avenue
After stopping on Museum Road, the U1 bus service will head northbound on Cambridge Road for a short stop outside Spinnaker Sports Centre, before looping around Landport Terrace, and continuing on to Elm Grove. The remainder of the route is unchanged. These changes are not expected to affect bus timetables but Students and staff should plan accordingly and check for updates during this period.
