MyPort and face-to-face support based in University House are moving. The support they offer you will stay the same. During the moves, support will be available virtually, by phone or email.
MyPort and face-to-face support based in University House are moving. The support they offer you will stay the same.
The details of the moves are:
- MyPort Hub will move to Lion Gate Building. The team will be available in Lion Gate Building from Tuesday 25 November, and will also be available in University House until Wednesday 3 December.
- Student Housing, International Student Advice, Student Money, Student Life, and Res Life will move to Lion Gate Building on Friday 21 and Monday 24 November. They will reopen for in-person appointments on Tuesday 25 November.
- Disability Advice will move to the Bateson Centre from Friday 28 November to Wednesday 3 December. They will reopen for in-person appointments on Thursday 4 December.
- Student Wellbeing will remain in the Bateson Centre, but will be supporting Disability Advice move on Monday 1 December. They will reopen for in-person appointments on Tuesday 2 December.
Support will still be available to students virtually, by phone or email during the moves. MyPort Hub will be available in both University House and Lion Gate throughout the move.
Careers and Employability will also be moving back to Rosalind Franklin East. Support will continue to be available in the University Library until the Christmas break (Friday 19 December), and will be available back in Rosalind Franklin East on Monday 5 January 2026.
Where is Lion Gate Building, the Bateson Centre, and Rosalind Franklin East?
Lion Gate Building is on Lion Terrace, Portsmouth, PO1 3HF, and is located in the Northern Quarter, near buildings such as Richmond, Dennis Sciama, and Portland Building.
The Bateson Centre is on The Mary Rose St, Portsmouth, PO1 2BL, and is located behind Bateson Halls, which is opposite Harry Law Halls.
Rosalind Franklin East is on Guildhalll Walk, Portsmouth, PO1 2DD, opposite the Astoria.,

Why are they moving?
We are disassembling the building that the Services are currently based in, University House. This is so we can build a new Technology Building on the site, subject to planning. We’ll keep you up to date on this project as we move forward.
