New IT teaching spaces are to be created across campus, allowing for interactive learning to take place in larger classrooms.
The new teaching spaces follow feedback from students and teaching staff, and changes in behaviour across our Open Access IT spaces.
Open Access Areas
- Park 0.14 Open Access will be converted to a teaching space. Other Open Access areas within Park remain unaffected and will continue to be available.
- Richmond Building 1.01 will also be converted to teaching space. Once this is completed in the autumn, further works will take place, with rooms 1.03 and 1.04 due to become one larger teaching space. The study area outside of the Bloomberg Suite remains unaffected.
As with all IT teaching spaces, facilities are available for use when there are no teaching sessions taking place.
Other areas across campus being converted to teaching space are:
- Chimes Cafe on the Ground Floor of the University Learning Centre will be converted to an IT teaching room, with approximately 80 spaces.
- Lion Gate 0.14abc, currently two rooms, this will be combined into one larger IT teaching room.
