Discover the academic evidence you need for your assignments at a Library search pop-up
Library staff are popping up in the Library Atrium next week, offering you an introduction to finding academic information using the Discovery Service. The Discovery Service is like Google but for academic information. It is often the fastest way to find the research evidence your lecturers will love to see you using. You can start looking for journal articles and more from a simple search and then use the Discovery Service's powerful tools to pick out the most recent, relevant and useful research evidence to support your arguments.
Many people get nervous when trying something new for the first time, and so we will be sitting in the Atrium offering to show you how to get started using the Discovery Service. Bring an assignment and we can help you create your search strategy and walk you through finding the best research evidence step by step. We'll even email you the instructions for recreating the search at the end, so you can pick up where we leave off!
Where and when
Monday 25 to Friday 29 November, between 1.00pm and 3.00pm in the Library Atrium.
Don't miss…
The following week, we will be hosting APA referencing pop-ups – same time, same place! The perfect follow-on from finding the research evidence you need for your assignments to help you reference them properly.
