By Monday 13 October, you’ll need to show a digital bus pass to access the U1 and U2 bus services on campus.
What you need to do
- Download the First Bus app via the Play Store or App Store.
- To order a ticket, tap the Tickets button in the app, click buy, choose your area and find the University of Portsmouth section. Select the ‘Portsmouth Uni Annual’ ticket from the product catalogue.
- Order the annual bus pass for a refundable 1p admin fee. You'll need to claim this back from First Bus.
- Download your ticket so you can scan your pass and bring your University ID card each time you board the bus.
Why this change?
Charges are being introduced for other users of the bus, so this change will help ensure that eligible students can access the free service, as the app allows quick verification of your pass. We are also able to collect valuable data on the service that will help inform decisions and enhancements to the service.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch with the estates.helpdesk@port.ac.uk. You can find support with the app on the First Bus website.
