This is the unofficial scam poster appearing around campus and is fake.

15 September 2026

We have been made aware of posters appearing around campus and outside Freshers' Fayre that use Students' Union branding to claim that a night-time event is a scam.

Neither the University nor the Students’ Union has any involvement in the creation, distribution, or content of these posters.

For information about upcoming events, always refer to the official channels used by the Students’ Union, such as social media and the UPSU What’s on Page

As always, we encourage students to exercise caution when engaging with information from unofficial sources. It is important to stay alert to potential scams and learn how to recognise them. While scammers often target students through emails, phone calls, text messages, social media and fake websites, in this case, the material came from physical posters, which are currently being taken down around campus.

We hope you're all settling in and enjoying the Freshers’ atmosphere. If you are ever unsure about information relating to University or Students' Union activities, please contact us directly through our official channels.
