Every room number will change within the Eldon Building to help improve wayfinding

As part of ongoing improvements to the campus, room numbering in the Eldon Building is being updated to improve wayfinding. This will improve flow and will make finding rooms much easier.

What's changing?

  • Every room number will change within the Eldon Building.
  • The new room numbers will be in place for the start of Teaching Block 2, and will be reflected in your timetable from Wednesday 14 January. There will be a transition period , so please make sure you check your timetable carefully and regularly, especially if you have assessments in Eldon. Give yourself extra time to make sure you’re able to find the right room if you’re unfamiliar with the building.
  • If you regularly attend teaching in Eldon, chances are you’ll still go to the same physical rooms as before – only the numbers on the doors will change. If you’re unsure, ask your lecturers.
  • Directional signage and maps will be installed in stairwells and lift areas, and additional signage will be in place to help you.
  • The building is now divided into three colour zones to help you find your way quickly.
  • A new numbering system will be introduced. For example, 01-012 is the first floor, room 12.

If you have any queries, please contact your course leader.
