Are you looking for accommodation for when you return in September?

If you're looking for accommodation for September, The Student Housing team can help with information on all your options, including a room in halls of residence.

Halls

The University has a range of halls at price points to suit all budgets – offering a 40 week contract. Our halls include self-catered and catered options, as well as en suite or shared bathroom facilities. Halls are spread across 3 areas, with the Guildhall and Southsea halls being within close walking distance to University. There is also Langstone Flats and Trust Hall, which are connected to the campus by a University bus service, and offer the opportunity for students living there to apply for a parking permit and bring their car to the Langstone site. Car parking is not available at other hall locations.

You can find more information on halls of residence, including photos and prices, on our halls webpages

Places are available in halls for the 2026-27 academic year. If you are interested in applying for halls, as a group or as an individual, contact the Student Housing team on 02392 843214 or by emailing student.housing@port.ac.uk. Student Housing will contact you during April to let you know which of your preferred halls of residence you have been allocated to.

Private accommodation

You can also start your search for accommodation in the private rented sector where there is a wide range of shared houses, flats and lodgings across the city.

We recommend using StudentPad, which is our official accommodation search engine including a database of student properties from our registered landlords.

We also have a message board on this website where you can link with other students who may be searching for housemates, or advertising additional rooms. You can email studentpad@port.ac.uk to request the message board password.

More housing information and advice can be found on the University’s student accommodation webpages.
