Accommodation for returning students September 2025

If you're looking for accommodation for September, The Student Housing team can help with information on all your options, including a potential room in halls of residence.

Halls

The University has a range of halls at price points to suit all budgets. Our halls include self-catered and catered options, as well as en suite or shared bathroom facilities. Halls are spread across 3 areas, with the Guildhall and Southsea halls being a close walking distance to University. There is also the recently refurbished Langstone Flats and Trust Hall, which are connected to the campus by a University bus service, and offer the opportunity for students living there to apply for a parking permit and bring their car to the Langstone site. Car parking is not available at other hall locations.

If you would like to register your interest for a hall room for the 2025–26 academic year please register your interest. The Student Housing team will then stay in contact with you and let you know as soon as possible over the summer about any hall places available. Please note, we can't guarantee a room.

Private accommodation 

You can also start your search for accommodation in the private rented sector where there is a wide range of shared houses, flats and lodgings across the city. 

We recommend using StudentPad, which is our official accommodation search engine including a database of student properties from our registered landlords. 

We also have a message board on this website where you can link with other students who may be searching for housemates, or advertising additional rooms. You can email studentpad@port.ac.uk to request the message board password.
