Students currently studying at the University of Portsmouth (UoP) on a dual degree programme with Edith Cowan University (ECU) had a unique opportunity to connect with Portsmouth Football Club players – and fellow Australians – at a recent meet and greet event.
This informal gathering aimed to foster connections and provide a memorable experience for ECU students to meet and chat with their compatriots – Kusini Yengi and Jacob Farrell – who shared their experiences and insights with the students.
The event was designed as a networking opportunity for UoP/ECU students to engage with the football players in a casual setting, and exemplified the strong ties between ECU and UoP: highlighting the enriching experiences available to students studying abroad.
Chris Chang, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement and Student Life), said: "We are proud to have this partnership with Edith Cowan University as it strengthens our commitment to providing a well-rounded, internationally informed education that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed for their future careers.
“It was a great experience for the students to meet the two Australian footballers Kusini Yengi and Jacob Farrell from Portsmouth Football Club for an informal Q&A session about Australia and their time in the UK."
Dual degrees at the University of Portsmouth
Dual degrees allow you to gain 2 Bachelor's degrees or 2 Master's degrees in less time than it takes to study them separately. Most dual degrees involve studying at 2 universities, so you'll benefit from the teaching expertise, latest research and facilities of both institutions. And because each university is usually located in a different country, you'll get to experience another culture and build a professional network.
We currently offer 6 dual degrees in partnership with Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Western Australia and 1 dual degree in partnership with Münster University of Applied Sciences in Germany and IDRAC Business School in France.
