The University remains committed to your safety and wellbeing, and we take all reports of sexual misconduct seriously. We foster a culture of being trauma-informed and helping you to feel safe on campus.
What are we doing to tackle Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence?
- Our Ask. Respect. Repeat campaign educates students on the importance of gaining enthusiastic and continued consent in sexual relationships.
- Team UoP committee members receive active bystander training, which covers sexual violence.
- Upcoming mandatory sexual misconduct and harassment awareness training for all students.
- Dedicated Sexual Misconduct policy and procedure.
- Report and Support tool for students to report any incident of sexual misconduct to the University - this can also be done anonymously.
- Sex and Relationships Roadshows across campus, where we engage students in conversations and activities about consent.
- All University staff are undertaking Sexual Harassment Awareness training.
- Collaborative and joint working approach between Student Services, Student Casework Team, and Sport & Rec.
What support do we offer to victim-survivors of sexual abuse and violence?
- Specialist trained Sexual Violence Liaison Officers offering trauma-informed and practical support to anyone who has been a victim-survivor of sexual abuse/assault at any time in their lives.
- On the day, bookable advice sessions with our Wellbeing Service to help support students' emotional health.
- A dedicated Sexual Misconduct policy and a clear student complaints procedure.
- Links with specialist services in the community who offer support to victim-survivors, such as Treetops (Sexual Assault Referral Centre), Yellow Door and The You Trust.
- Access to a Police Liaison Officer for informal advice or a formal complaint.
