University opening hours over the Easter break
Here’s when different services will be closing during the Easter break.
Term resumes on Monday 28 April 2025. All academic year dates are available on MyPort.
Security will be available to help with University-related emergencies by calling 023 9284 3333.
Upcoming opening hours
Here are the full changes in place over the holiday period.
Our opening hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and on Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm. Holiday hours remain the same except closures for Bank holidays (Good Friday and Easter Monday).

Chimes, the Library, Park, Pitstop and Portland coffee shops will close on Friday 4 April and will reopen Monday 28 April.
Eldon Cafe will be open 9.00am to 1.00pm weekdays over the Easter break and will be closed for the bank holidays on Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April.
The Hub will be open 8.30am to 3.00pm weekdays over the Easter break and will be closed for the bank holidays on Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April.
The Terrace will be open 8.00am to 5.00pm weekdays over the Easter break and will be closed for the bank holidays on Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April.
Ravelin Sports Cafe will be open normal hours over the majority of the break, with a change in hours over the bank holiday weekend:
- Friday 18 April: 8.00am to 5.00pm
- Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April: 8.00am to 6.00pm
- Monday 21 April: 8.00am to 5.00pm
Normal service will resume with all campus cafes from Monday 28 April 2025.
The Careers and Employability Service is temporarily moving. From Tuesday 1 April, you'll find the team in the Library, Monday to Friday, between 10.00am and 4.00pm for 1-1 appointments and careers support.
The service will not be running on Bank holidays: Good Friday (18 April) and Easter Monday (21 April).
There will also be drop-in sessions in Portland and Eldon until Friday 4 April, which will restart after the Easter break on Monday 28 April.
Chaplains will be available for support and the Chaplaincy Lounge will remain open Monday to Friday throughout the Easter Break, except on the two Bank Holidays (Friday 18 and Monday 21 April).
The Prayer Rooms for our Muslim students and staff will be open from 8am to 7pm every day including the weekends and Bank Holidays.

The UoP Global service is open as usual, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 8.30am to 4.00pm to Friday.
We'll be closed on Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April.

The Library Building remains open 24/7 during the Easter break.
Library staff will be available as usual, except for the Easter weekend (Friday 18 April to Monday 21 April), when the library building will be staffed by security staff only.
Our 24/7 online chat service will be available throughout the Easter Vacation, allowing you to chat with a librarian whenever you need help.

The MyPort Hub is open as usual, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 8.30am to 4.00pm to Friday.

Res Life will be closed from 8.00pm on Thursday 17 April 2025 and reopening at 9.30am on Tuesday 22 April 2025.

The Student finance team will be available during normal working hours, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 8.30am to 4.00pm to Friday.

The Student Housing service is closed from 5.00pm on Thursday 17 April and will reopen at 9.00am on Tuesday 22 April.

The Student Wellbeing Service is open as usual, 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 8.30am to 4.00pm to Friday.

Groups – 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Holiday hours remain the same except closures for Bank holidays (Good Friday and Easter Monday).
The university bus service ends Friday 4 April inclusive, resuming Monday 28 April.
