Check your personal device for malware

Use the security tools built into your own laptop or computer to check for malware and help keep your device protected

If you use your own laptop or computer for University work, you are responsible for keeping it secure and protected from malware.

As this is your personal device, University IT Services cannot diagnose faults, remove malware or provide technical support for the device itself. However, you can use the built-in security tools in Windows or macOS to check your device and help keep it protected.

Check your device

The steps for checking for malware depend on the type of device you use. Choose your operating system below to find the built-in security tools available on your personal device.
