Introduction
The university is committed to supporting good mental health. Having trained Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders) is a key component in creating a safe, healthy workplace where the mental and physical health of employees and students is valued equally. MHFAiders give staff and students the tools to support their own mental health and that of their colleagues and peers, encouraging them to access timely support when needed.
The Health, Safety and Compliance Team have created the following Mental Health First Aid Arrangement:

Mental Health First Aid Interaction Record
The following form is for recording interactions between MHFAiders and those who sought support. The information collected will be used to improve and optimise the provision of MHFA support and training and overall improvement of wellbeing. Data will be kept in line with the University's data retention schedule.
The form will record the name of the MHFAider, but will not capture personally identifiable information about the individual who has engaged with mental health first aid (MHFA).
Student Support
If the person seeking support is a student, MHFAiders are able to complete a 'concerned about a student' form with the student's consent. The completion of this form ensures the University provides a suitable follow-up with the student:
