Your final year at uni

Personalised career support during your final year

We recognise that the final year of your course, whether you’re an undergraduate or Masters student, can be a busy and exciting time, but it also can be overwhelming. We understand that you’ll have a lot to think about - from your final year project or dissertation, to planning for life after university. That’s why we’re here to support you now, and for up to five years after graduation.

At Careers and Employability, you’ll receive advice that is personalised to you. Whatever your interests might be, or wherever you are with your career planning, our careers advisers can help. They’ll work with you throughout your final year to prepare you for what comes next, offering you in support in a range of areas including:

  • Career options and deciding your next steps
  • Where to find work and job search strategies
  • Feedback on your CV, covering letters and applications to help your application be as strong as it can be
  • Support in understanding and navigating through the selection process
  • Where you can go for more information and advice including our specialist advice teams and career events and workshops.

Overall, we want to work with you to help you stay focused and reach your goals whilst making sure that you feel prepared and confident throughout the process. Booking a 20-minute career advice appointment is a good first step that can help you start on the right track, whatever stage you’re at. To book an appointment, log onto your MyCareer account or call us on +44 (0)23 9284 2684.

Alternatively, you can visit our drop-in service in the centre for some initial support, which runs between 2pm-4pm Monday to Friday. You can find us located beneath Rosalind Franklin Halls on Guildhall Walk.
