Ticketing

To attend the Graduation Ceremonies at the Guildhall, you will need tickets for yourself and any guests. These can be booked through the My Graduation tab in your Student View.

Please don’t wait until you know your results to book tickets, formal photography, and academic dress. You will automatically receive a full refund from the University and Graduation Attire if you cannot attend your Graduation ceremony for academic reasons.

For any questions, please contact graduation@port.ac.uk

Tickets are booked through the MyGraduation page on your Student View, which is now available. Please note that you must book a place for yourself as well as for your guests.

When ticket bookings open on 16 April 2024, you will receive complimentary tickets for yourself and two guests. Please note you will not be sitting with your guests during the ceremony.

Once the initial booking period is closed on 7 May 2024, we will email you if additional guest tickets are available to purchase for your ceremony. Ticket bookings will re-open on 20 May 2024.  Additional tickets will cost £20 for persons aged 13 and over and £5 for those under 12. To give everybody the same opportunity additional tickets, where available, will initially be limited to two guests per student. If more become available, you will be contacted by email

The deadline for guaranteeing your place at this year’s Graduation ceremonies is 7 May 2024. If you do not book your place by the deadline we cannot guarantee a space will be available on the same ceremony as your coursemates. We will try to find a space at a suitable alternative ceremony as necessary.

It may be possible to purchase additional tickets if there is capacity at the Guildhall at a later date. If additional tickets are available these will be on sale from 20 May 2024.

The deadline for purchasing additional tickets is 28 June 2024. Tickets may be available on the day via the Helpdesk located in Ravelin Sports Hall. These will be available on a first come, first served basis and will not be located with any seating you have already booked for your guests.

If you’re bringing children, please bear in mind that the ceremony is a formal occasion and lasts for around 1-1.5 hours. Depending on whether a child is comfortable sitting for that long, guests with young children may wish to watch the ceremony live online.

The ceremony will be live-streamed on the University’s YouTube channel for any guests who are unable to attend in person. We will also have a viewing room in White Swan Building for those guests who are unable to get tickets for the Guildhall. The capacity of this room is approximately 75 and seats are available on a first come first served basis. There is space at the front of the room to accommodate prams/pushchairs and wheelchairs/mobility scooters. Once the room is full we will be unable to accommodate any additional people

There is no space for prams/pushchairs in the main auditorium and these will need to be left in the Octagon area of the Guildhall.

Please note that children cannot be left unattended and must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Children are not permitted to sit in the student seating areaThe safety and well-being of children are the responsibility of accompanying adults. Children cannot be cared for by the University of Portsmouth or Portsmouth Guildhall members of staff. Children are not allowed to accompany graduands across the stage.
