Bench Fees

Some PhD projects may include additional fees – known as bench fees – for equipment and other consumables. These will be added to your standard tuition fee. Please note, bench fees are not eligible for discounts and are non-refundable. For more information on these please speak to staff within the Faculty.

Other Fees

Below are the fees which have been agreed by the Fee Setting Committee for the 2023/24 Academic Year.

  • Extension fee: The 1 year extension fee is £1950. Should the extension be for 6 months or less the fee charged will be 50% of the total 1 year fee.
  • Resubmission and referral fee: This is a 1 year fee of £450 which is charged during the examination phase if the student is given either outcome.

The fee and length of time applied to the above fees is the same for all Postgraduate students, both Full Time and Part Time.
