Monday 4 October
12.00pm – 1.00pm: Welcome to your Economics and Finance postgraduate course
A presentation from the Economics and Finance Subject Group's Director of Postgraduate Programmes, Chris Reid. Chris will provide some key information to get you started on your course.
This will be a live event, but a recording will be available via Moodle for anyone that is unable to attend.
2.00pm – 3.00pm: An introduction to key services
In this session Chris explains some of the key services within the Business School and University that are here to help you with your studies. A recording is available on Moodle.
Chris will leave the meeting after his presentation and any questions. But the link will remain live for you to say hello to each other and share -- a virtual cafe. Some of you are Portsmouth graduates and are familiar with the University, teaching style, staff, etc., and are well placed to answer those questions that really matter.
Tuesday 6 October
2.00pm – 3.00pm: Planning for success
Course Director Chris Reid discusses key factors that influence success as a postgraduate student. This is a live event that will be available on catch-up via Moodle.
Thursday 7 October
11.30am – 2.30pm: Office hours, Richmond Building
Chris will be in his office on Thursday. Please drop in to say hello or ask any questions.

2.30pm – 3.30pm: Academic integrity at Portsmouth
Chris discusses the Business School's framework for academic integrity. Chris has chaired the faculty's academic malpractice process and shares some observations from his experience. He will be happy to offer confidential advice on safer assessment whenever you should need it. A recording of this tutorial will be available on Moodle.
Friday 8 October
10.00am – 4.00pm: Online appointments available
Chris will be available online through Friday to help with any questions that you might have. Please drop Chris an email (Chris.Reid@port.ac.uk), and he will attempt to set up a meeting (typically via Google Meet).
Each module has its own individual Moodle site. Coordinators of each module will set out key information on books and other key resources during induction weeks. Most modules are making use of online textbooks, many of which are available through Perlego. Please check the individual Moodle sites for further information on the course and for module coordinator contact details.
International and EU students
We encourage you to join us in Portsmouth as soon as possible. But If you're unable to join us on campus due to visa, country, travel or other restrictions, you can study with us online. However, for some of our courses it is not possible to join online so you will need to be on campus to study these courses. Further information can be found in the International Students Coronavirus FAQs page. You need to let us know how you will be studying when you register, by indicating whether you'll be studying on campus or remotely. Information about registering and ID checks for the new academic year will be sent to you by email.
