University arrangements for Monday 19 September

Induction activities on Monday 19 September have been rescheduled for the funeral of Her Majesty The Queen, which will now be a UK bank holiday.

We will email you to confirm that your timetable has been updated.

Accessing your online accounts

If your induction includes online activities, you'll need your student account details to access them. Your username will consist of 'UP' followed by your student ID number (for example, UP123456).

You’ll also need to log into Moodle to find all the details about your course. You’ll only have access to Moodle once you complete your registration with us.

9.30am - 11.00am: Level 4 Course Induction

Welcome to your course! In this session, you will meet your tutor and the core teaching team for an information session and taster lecture.

12.00pm - 1.00pm: Level 4 Community Gathering

Join your fellow freshers on the green for a meet and greet! There will be food and drinks for you to mingle with your new classmates and the staff you'll be getting to know on your University journey.

Wednesday 21 September

10.00am - 11.00am: Level 4 Tutorial 1

Get to know your tutor and classmates in this small group setting that will prepare you for the studies ahead.

1.00pm - 2.00pm: The Torture Debate

How far should law enforcement be able to go to save lives? Should torture be allowed? In this exciting, interact debate, you can decide for yourselves as you hear from both sides.

Students will have the opportunity to mix with staff and students across the whole programme including undergrad and postgrad. The quiz will centre around the criminal justice system.

Get to know the University facilities with the help of your tutor in this second get together.

1.00pm - 2.00pm: Scavenger Hunt

Put your detective skills to the test by cracking clues and finding the next building. Glory awaits those who get to the end of the trail! You'll also learn your way around the city and campus.

2.00pm - 4.00pm: FHSS Wellbeing and Support Event

Gathering of all central support services in Third Space for students to explore and become familiar with, picking up details as required and meeting with staff.

If you're joining us from overseas, find out about our International Orientation events and what you need to do during your first weeks.

You'll need to join us in Portsmouth for the start of course. Information about registering, collecting your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP card) and ID checks for the new academic year will be sent to you by email.
