It is possible for staff to request creation of a new unit in Moodle. The options are available within the self-service form.

Moodle request form


Name of unit

The name of the unit is typically as it appears on the Unit Management Form that your department will have completed.


Unit short name

Departments often have a short name for a unit which is more distinguishing at a glance than the unit code.


Attendance group

The attendance group is as defined in Student Records. Please note that this must be correct for students to automatically enrol.


Unit coordinator

The unit coordinator is the owner of the unit.

If it is a non standard unit, please give details of the purpose of the site and the intended unit. For example, a common room for all students in a department to provide an online resource area specific to the department.
