This article will inform you of when the Graduate School inductions are.

Our Induction 'Getting started with your research' events take place twice a year, usually on the first Tuesday and Wednesday in February and October of each year. All new students will receive an invitation to attend with further details in early September or December, depending on your start date.

The induction programme includes sessions and university-wide workshops organised by the Graduate School which provide the opportunity to welcome you, and help you to get started with your research. You are required to attend the induction week activities which will include Faculty and/or Department welcome events.

You should complete the Induction Form (available from Moodle) with your First Supervisor and meet your supervisory team when you will agree the schedule for supervisory meetings both with your First Supervisor and the whole supervisory team. At this initial meeting the areas of expertise and support within your supervisory team should also be discussed.
