This article will explain what an interim examination is.

An interim examination is for Postgraduate Research Students who do not appear to be progressing at the anticipated rate at any point during their studies. The supervisory team of that individual will request an interim examination which provides the student with the opportunity to demonstrate that their standard of work and commitment to the work is sufficient to continue the registration. The student will then be notified that an Interim Examination will be arranged to assess the standard of work.
