This article will explain what a viva voce examination is.
A viva voce examination is a formal examination where you will have to answer questions regarding your thesis and the research area. This is to ensure that you have a wide and deep knowledge on the subject.
Your thesis will be sent to the approved examiners following submission to the Research Degrees Team, Student Administration Services, Department of Student and Academic Administration (DSAA) and you will need to submit one copy for each examiner. Your First Supervisor will inform you of the date, time and place of the viva voce examination.
There is no dress code for your viva voce, but this is a formal examination and it is expected that you will dress accordingly. You will be notified of the result at the end of the viva voce examination and the Research Degrees Team, Student Administration Services, Department of Student and Academic Administration (DSAA) will formally notify you in writing of the examiners’ decision.
