This article describes the role of the Chaplaincy in providing support for students who belong to a religion whilst at University.
Yes, we do. The University Chaplaincy is there to support all students, of all faiths or none. The chaplains have several years’ experience working in and with faith communities, and providing pastoral support. They operate an open door policy. This means that you can visit them to talk about any issues that are bothering you, or any problems that are worrying you. You don’t have to have an appointment, although you may need to wait a while at busy times of the year, and you may prefer to make an appointment. There are Islamic prayer rooms, a Quiet room, a listening service and perhaps most importantly, a great space to relax and meet friends.
The Chaplaincy Suite is open:
Monday 9am - 5pm
Tuesday 9am - 5pm
Wednesday 9am - 5pm
Thursday 9am - 5pm
Friday 9am - 4pm
During these hours there is often someone available for advice and support.
In an emergency and for out of hours security, please call the Security Lodge on +44 (0)23 9284 3418. From a Halls of Residence landline, this is just 84 3418.
