Professional Resilience - Faculty Session (2 of 2 repeat sessions)
Following the recent Q&A sessions, Richard contacted Sherria regarding the stress felt by staff and advised that he has been speaking about professional resilience within the healthcare setting and that there is now sound research that can support staff to live therapeutic lifestyles and maintain productivity.
Richard has proposed around 30 mins for the presentation and 15 mins in small groups then feedback - so 1.5 hours just to give some buffer and allow for any tech issues etc, however it is likely that the full time won't be needed.
During the recent pandemic, constant pressure, unpredictable changes and the erosion of the work life balance, has led to increasing emotional exhaustion and burn out.
Many feel isolated, frustrated and unable to access their normal friends and hobbies. Professional resilience is vital at this time, we need to understand how to keep focused, keep positive and supportive when life feels rather chaotic.
The seminar will look at some of the rather surprising work in professional resilience and consider how this can be applied within an academic context. There will be opportunities for personal reflection and group discussions.
I hope that this session will be helpful for you and for your teams.
