We welcome you to our specialist breast biomechanics laboratory to test sports bras during treadmill running.

Measurements of breast support, bra comfort, aesthetics and general opinions will be collected. Your feedback and opinions will go towards improving the sports bras whilst they are undergoing development, and/or to aid the marketing of these products.

Who should be able to apply to participate?

General public, Students, Staff

Participant Characteristics

- Comfortable with treadmill running for short periods (of up to 2 minutes at a time)
- A 32DD, 34D or 34DD bra size
- Have not been pregnant or breast feeding within the last year
- Have not undergone any surgical procedures to the breast
18 - 45 yrs
- Female

What will participants be doing?

Following a health screening questionnaire, participants will be professionally bra fitted by a trained researcher to ensure they are the correct size for the bras being tested (up to 15 minutes duration).

If they are the correct size, participants will be invited to take part in a testing session which involves a short treadmill run in up to 8 different sports bras, and a control condition. During this time, participants' breast movement will be measured using motion sensors.

After each treadmill run, participants will be asked to completed a questionnaire on the bra comfort, fit, support and aesthetics of each sports bra. (up to 45 minutes duration)

What will participants receive as a reward for their participation?

Participants will receive £15 for their time, or a free sports bra
