About Graduation
Graduation
Graduation is a formal ceremony to celebrate your achievement of successfully completing your studies at the University.
Graduation is a moment of pride and happiness, but also a chance to reflect on your years spent as a student.
What happens at a Graduation ceremony?
The ceremony consists of speeches from the Presiding Officer, a student speaker and sometimes an honorary Graduate who has made an important impact in their field or the community.
A key part of the ceremony as a Graduate is walking across the stage in your academic dress.
The Presenting Head will announce your name and course. If you receive a first class or distinction award, they'll also announce this.
Each ceremony lasts about 1.5 hours.
